Jeremy graduated from the University of Auckland in 1989, and subsequently completed his training in radiology with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 1997. He then undertook a further two years of subspecialty fellowship training in mammography in the UK from 1997 to 1999, working in internationally recognised breast units at King’s College Hospital, London and the Nottingham Breast Institute, Nottingham.

Since returning to New Zealand in 1999, Jeremy has worked as a full-time radiologist specialising in breast imaging. He has a broad clinical experience in all areas of breast imaging, including full-field digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound and breast MRI. One of his main areas of interest is image-guided breast biopsy, and he has extensive experience in a range of needle biopsy techniques, including ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, ultrasound-guided core biopsy, stereotactic core biopsy, and stereotactic or tomosynthesis-guided vacuum-assisted biopsy, as well as experience with various breast localisation techniques, including ultrasound or mammographic-guided hookwire localisation, and insertion of the newer 'seed-type' breast localisation devices.

He has held the position of Clinical Head of Breast Imaging at Auckland City Hospital since 2000, and currently works as a consultant radiologist at Greenlane Clinical Centre as well as Allevia Breast Institute. He is also a member of the both the Auckland Breast Cancer Study Group and the ANZ Breast Cancer Trials Group.
