Dr Joo Kim

Specialising in Oncologic imaging, PET-CT, head and neck imaging.

A graduate of Auckland School of Medicine, Joo trained in diagnostic and interventional radiology in Auckland and Australia before heading to Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Florida, United States of America for further specialist training in PET-CT and MRI. During her time in the USA she also led the radiomics cancer imaging research group at Moffitt in close collaboration with researchers at Mayo Clinic and Columbia University. Joo has published journal articles and book chapters on head and neck cancer and glioblastoma, and has presented her research at international conferences. Joo’s areas of expertise are cancer imaging using PET-CT and MRI, head and neck imaging and image-guided minimally invasive biopsies. Joo is an oncologic radiologist at Allevia Radiology, the Allevia Neck Lump Clinics and at Middlemore Hospital, and continues research in brain tumours with the Centre for Brain Research at the University of Auckland.
