Specialising in Interventional Neuroradiology 

Stefan attended Auckland Medical School then headed to Sydney in 1990 where he trained in Radiology then Interventional Radiology at Prince Alfred Hospital. He moved to London to train in Interventional Neuroradiology at Queen Square and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in 2000. After further periods of training at Alfried Krupp Krankenhaus, Essen, Germany and Bicêtre Hospital, Paris, France, he returned to London and was appointed lead Interventional Neuroradiologist across both these sites in 2003. In addition to his clinical duties, he continued to be active in research, teaching, interventional device development and device proctoring across Europe over the next decade. He returned in 2013 to take up a position at Auckland City Hospital as a diagnostic and interventional neuroradiologist. He was appointed National Clinical Co-Director for Stroke/Clot Retrieval in 2021. He joined Allevia Radiology and IntraCare in 2021.
